Hotwire isn’t as flashy as some newer booking sites, but it can still offer solid deals if you’re flexible with your travel plans. I’ve used it a few times for last minute hotel bookings and saved a decent amount. The “Hot Rate” deals can be great, but you don’t always know exactly what you’re getting until after you’ve booked. Customer service is hit or miss, and the website could use a refresh. Still, if you’re looking for savings and don’t mind a little mystery, Hotwire is worth considering.

I booked a hostel online, but when I arrived, the room didn’t look like the pictures. It was smaller, not very clean, and the bed was uncomfortable. The staff wasn’t very helpful when I asked to change rooms. I expected better for the price I paid.
5/5
As a budget traveler, I rely on Hostelworld when looking for affordable accommodations. The site offers a good range of hostels, and the reviews are usually helpful in deciding where to stay. However, I’ve had mixed experiences with cleanliness and the accuracy of photos. Some hostels looked great online but turned out to be run-down in person. Also, the booking fees can add up, which is frustrating for short stays. Still, if you’re on a tight budget and don’t mind a little unpredictability, Hostelworld is a solid option, but always double-check the reviews.
kayak.com
Kayak’s great for comparing prices, but I don’t actually book through it anymore. Too many bad experiences with the random sites it redirects you to. I still use it to scope out deals, but once I find what I want, I go directly to the airline or hotel to avoid surprises.

I've booked accommodation through Airbnb quite a few times, but you really have to be careful. I've once booked for a 3 days stay at Japan and the host are great, room is clean, and detail listing in website is the same as what inside the Airbnb. But I've booked one room in Jakarta, the room is dirty, host is uncontactable, in the end I have to move to a hotel as the room is so bad
Airbnb has revolutionized travel accommodations by offering unique stays and the chance to live like a local. I've had memorable experiences staying in charming homes that hotels can't replicate. However, the platform's consistency can be hit or miss. Some hosts are exceptionally hospitable, while others are unresponsive or have misleading listings. The service fees can also add up, making some stays pricier than anticipated. Despite these issues, Airbnb remains a valuable option for travelers seeking diverse lodging experiences.

There really are quite a few good offers, especially if you check periodically. I also like that you can choose your hotel and so you don't think about anything. We booked our flight to London so quite a bargain.

I booked a flight to Los Angeles with FlightHub because the price was good. Booking was easy, but when my flight got canceled, customer service was hard to reach and not very helpful. There were also some extra fees I didn’t expect. Overall, okay price but poor support

The process of booking a hotel is easy. I booked through VIO and it a good offer. Our hotel and room matched the pictures and information perfectly. We had a super time, will use the services again.
booked a hotel in Austin, TX through Vio.com 🏨. the price was great, and the booking process was smooth. but when i arrived, the hotel had no record of my reservation 😕. had to call Vio's support, which took a while to respond. eventually got it sorted, but it was a stressful start to my trip.

The price was fantastic, but you have to be flexible with dates and resorts. We had to shift our plans a little, but in the end, it was worth it. Just make sure to read all the booking terms carefully.

I ordered The Silent Patient for a vacation. The price was good, and it arrived quickly. Unfortunately, the cover was slightly bent, and the packaging felt flimsy. Overall, still happy with the purchase.
booked a trip to cancun with booksi. i’m usually not comfortable trusting vacation deals like this online, but i was actually pleased with how clear the offers were. the price was great, and the resort matched the pics. had to sit through a timeshare talk 😅 and pay a few extra fees, but overall, it worked out.

It took me a while until I could make a reservation. There are lots of options and I like that everything is laid out with prices etc, I just find the site a bit confusing. Maybe it's a matter of getting used to it.

I booked a hotel for a girls weekend and was excited about the low price. But when we arrived, the hotel had no clue about the reservation. Luckily they had availability, but I had to pay twice. Disappointing.

For me, this is the best way to book a hotel quickly and conveniently. You have answers to all your questions + fast response from the support. I used the site to book a hotel for Chicago and was very satisfied. Everything in the hotel matched the information on the platform.
